Back to work...

The French trip came and went. 5 days with our students, trekking through England to get to the stunning French countryside.

We took a 6.hour.ferry.

Way too long.

The kids were very well-behaved though, and they brought lots of games and bracelet making things to keep themselves entertained.

There were a range of activities and the camp (camp? residential? something like that) was very well organized. And the food!!!! The bread! The cheese! The wine!

Everything was in French.

Everything.

Yep, I don't speak any French. It was all a bit much. On one hand, I felt so fortunate that I saw and participated in all the amazing activities with the students. But on the other hand, long days with the children were so exhausting.

Thank goodness I had my little book translation thing. Although I still can't tell you any French words.

After the trip it was half term! 1 week off-hooray! Only bad thing was the terrible weather here in rainy England.

But I did manage to rest and not do any school work (although I'm paying for it now with reports due soon).

I guess I technically did a bit of school work. I had to take the opportunity to update some of the math journal activities in my TPT store and finally get my second grade place value printables finished!!

Next--------> 6 weeks left of school!! The major things are reports, parent conferences and our big play!!

I have got to say that our lovely students are off to a great start with this play and I am enjoying this sweet time of the year with them. Despite the lack of stability with our admin, and high turnover of staff, I thoroughly enjoy my students and the subjects I get to teach. I am fortunate that I get to focus on a few subjects instead of teaching everything, in addition to teaching across a couple year levels. It's nice to get to know the children throughout the school this way. I must remember this when the gossip and low staff morale get me down!!

Have a great day!!

almost forgot my fencing picture!!

March travel and more notebook ideas (of course!)

Well 6 weeks on, here I am again. I've seen a lot of amazing things going on in classrooms around the world...I LOVE YOUR BLOGS EVERYONE!

My life at the moment can be summed up in 4 words: Bible, Dates, Yoga, Library.

This is all I have time for these days. The classroom libraries are done for now though! I updated the libraries (labeled book baskets and all) for Year 3, 4, and 6! I am so excited to see if this help kids to find the books they want and read even more!

As for dates, the latest one (Christmas present this year: 1 meaningful date each month) was a visit to Brighton last weekend!

Here are some notebook ideas for those that do that sort of thing!

I'd imagine that many of you are spring break? I will be on Easter holidays in just over 2 weeks!! The only sad thing is that means only 1 term left with my Year 6's which makes me want to cry. I can't believe they will be leaving to go to secondary school : (
I still love looping, apart from the fact that I feel more attached.

Have a good one!

Notebook freebie & Vienna pics!

Hello!

I'm on week 2 of my half term (fall break). Very lucky girl to have 2 weeks! I'm loving it!

Last week my husband and I visited a friend that's currently living in Vienna, Austria. We had both never been there so we were excited!

My friend was so generous in opening her home to us and showing us around. It was so.relaxing. Vienna is also super beautiful and Danube Valley was stunning, especially with the changing leaves.

Wow, sorry that was a lot of pictures!

If you're still with me, here is a freebie (until Nov. 4) that I rounded up. I had a few resources from here and there from over the years as well as recently and I put it together. PLEASE give me feedback as I'm not sure if it's better for K-2 or 1-3. Thanks!

I'm off to enjoy some more relaxing in my pjs! Hope all is well with you!

P.S. I've just started Clean Eating in an attempt to fix my sinus problems and just generally feel more healthy...do any of you eat this way?

Been awhile....school almost finished!!!!

Wow!!!!!!! I've totally neglected my blog in the last couple months. It's good to be back. How have you been? What have I missed? What's bloglovin? I've seen this mentioned but not sure what it is.

Anyway, I have 2 and a half days left of school!!! British school year: Sept-July...can't wait to start living again. I have barely been existing since I returned from my trip 3 weeks ago. I feel like the worst wife, daughter, sister and friend ever. Lucky students seem to get everything I've got and then I go home and collapse. Big play production? Check. Parent conferences? Check. School carnival? Check. Prize giving ceremony tomorrow night and Year Six Leaver's BBQ Tuesday night then finished Wednesday!! I can almost touch it!!

Just finishing a gift for the class:
Anyway here's some photos from trip to see family in Illinois and relaxing time in Florida. There's also a sneak peek at a K.CC journal printables pack I'm working on (can't wait to get back into creating!)

Can't wait to catch up with everyone's blogs this week!!

The latest journal pack (picture the pages on the left and middle to be a foldable type):

Have a good one!!

Cape Town and a question about blogging backgrounds

Well it's been awhile, and if I'm honest, I'm having a hard getting back into the productive part of 'life'. I just got back from South Africa, visiting my husband's family (beautiful scenery, a bit a turmoil with in-laws that I could do without, but that's life)...anyway there wasn't really any internet connection there and so it was a well-needed break from blogging, reading blogs, pinterest, facebook, working etc.

But now I'm back, getting ready for work on Monday and I feel...empty. I'm looking at everyone's blogs, not really feeling like I have much to say. I haven't been able to make any of my journal resources that I love to share because my current job takes up every second I've got. I would so love to teach part time!

Anyway, I've got to finish my spring cleaning and snap out this lazy mood! Here are some pictures from Cape Town and Pretoria-I hope you enjoy it!

Also, I would like to change the background of my blog-any suggestions to where you got yours?

How was your first day back?

Well, 2 alarm clocks and the morning that came very early...but it was a great day back! I was so excited to see my students! Super tired now though.

How are you doing? Is it really dark in the morning where you are? It's dark in the morning and dark by about 4:30 in the afternoon!

A word of a warning-my USB with all my lesson plans for my current school got a virus and I could not retrieve my lesson plans! Make sure you back your stuff up on Dropbox or something! I have medium term plans to cut and paste from, but I still had to do some over again...could've been worse, but lesson learned!

Here are some pictures from Christmas day with friends and a few days in the country with a friend.

Happy New Year everyone!

Journal ideas and kilts!

Hello!! I hope you're all well. I'm still fighting some illness, but after awhile I guess you just get used to it as the norm and hope it goes away before Christmas : )

I went to my friend's wedding in Inverness, Scotland a couple weeks ago. Inverness was s-t-u-n-n-i-n-g! It was a great weekend away for my husband and I. I didn't realize how deep into work I was. It was a well-needed break and time away.

There's also a few journal ideas from my classroom-hope you enjoy! this is about all I have the energy for........I'm off to bed!!!
