Common Core: Journals/Notebooks

{{ FLASH FREEBIE!!}}

I will call this a flash freebie as I am giving away my manual (How to use K-2 journals) FREE this weekend!

This is a concept that I have been using for several years now and is far and away the greatest teaching tool that I learned from teaching in England and Australia.

I have seen this concept pick up a bit in the the United States, but is hard to translate for our little guys in K-2 classrooms.  I originally wrote this manual for my K-2 teacher friends that started using this method of journals, and then others wanted it, and it has grown from there!

I know schools are starting soon in the States, so I hope you all had a nice summer and are relaxed and rested for the new school year!

My latest resource is also free just for the weekend (for you loyal followers!)

Unrelated to teaching, check out this street performer we saw last weekend...so great!!

Comments always appreciated!!

Many Thanks,
Kelli xx

Thanks for checking out my blog and becoming a follower. I am now one of your followers, unfortunately, I didn't get in on your freebie. Maybe another time! How exciting to be teaching in Australia and now England!

Thanks for your wishes! I did get over strep throat. I just finished my 10 days of medicine and hope that gets rid of it. I've had problems in the past with the strep coming back. I hope that doesn't happen. It was the worst experience to get strep in the summer!

I should be going back home tomorrow. I was going to go tonight but it's still too hot - 90 degrees today. I live in an upstairs apartment. I'll probably leave early in the day tomorrow!

Oh, I should change my profile. Actually, last year was my first year of first grade after ten years in upper grades. It was an awful year since I had a brand-new principal that treated me as if I didn't know how to teach. She did this to another transferred teacher, too. I'm not looking forward to another year with her. She put me on a plan of assistance! I can't believe this and neither can my teacher friends. I've always been told I'm a good teacher. It's going to be another difficult year.

I look forward to reading more of your blog.
